How many horror, violence or gore movies have you watched for the last year?
Its seems that more people are addicted to these types of movies.
And now the best part is that almost half the shows in the cinemas are either horror, violence or gore movies?
What has happened to those artistic films? Is it because more people are watching the horror movies to destress themselves. Guess many people are now more stressed up at work or poeple are beginning to show their suppressed nature. And it is through these movies that they can really revealed their true nature without being treated like a freak.
I guess this is an worldwide phenomena as horror movies from all parts of the world are out to compete with each other in terms of their creativity in violence, twist in horror plot, and the intensity of the gory scenes.
Watching such movies is really like taking a roller coaster ride where you can hear people screaming, and see them covering their face and ears during the movie.
For me, I love to watch them because I find life a bit too boring and routine for me. Many people around me usually just go home after work to rest. Some don’t even have the luxury of going home early. I guess I really cannot live such a boring life. So I looked forward to such movies to bring me to new adventures.
Experiencing the excitement just brought a bit of spice into my life. This satisfies my curiousity of what might happen if this is in real life. I guess you won’t ever have a chance to see a ghost in real life or experience the emotions of the characters if you are in their shoes.
This type of experiences sort of like prepare me if something in the movie were to happen to me and I will know how to react the intelligent way to minimise damage or loss. Though this may never happen. Guess I am just one big (horror + gore + violence) movie freak and it seems I am always waiting for the ultimate movie to appear.
My favourite movie “The hills have eyes II” is now showing in the theatre. Maybe you can go watch it and tell me how you feel about the movie. I haven’t had the opportunity to watch “To sir with love” and I hope to catch it before it is gone. Another of my favourite is “Art of the devil 2″. You can also go buy the DVDs and watch all you can but I advise that you shouldn’t watch it alone…
